*CONCERNING WHO WAS TAKEN AND WHO WAS LEFT!* *1. Don't just stare at the English translation of a text and draw hastly conclusions based on that.* The argument so often used here is from Matthew 24:39-40 and was originally used together with the KJV version which looks like this: "and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and *TOOK* them all away." (Matthew 24:39) So the idea was that since *"took"* is used in verse 39 then *"taken"* in verse 40 and 41 must refer to the same thing. *IT DOESNT!* The two words are not the same in the original greek language (which is obviously what we would expect if Jesus' point was that those being "taken" refer to the same ones that the flood "took" away). The word "took" (as in "the flood took them away") is airō (G142 ) which is most often used when something is picked up and carried away. The word translated "taken" on the other hand (as in "one will be taken, the other left") "paralambanō" (G3880), suggests accompaniment: "to take to, to take *WITH one's self,* to *join to one's self".* It is the same word used in the following verses, among others: "Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and *took (G3880) unto him his wife"* (Matthew 1:24) And When he arose, he *took (G3880) the young child and his mother by night,* and departed into Egypt" (Matthew 2:14). *2. Don't assume that two verses following each other indicate that they are directly related to each other.* We cannot be certain that what Jesus said in verse 40 was immediately followed by what he said in 39. Why? Because in Luke 17:26-30 we see a whole string of verses SEPARATING these two verses. *3. Always use common sense!* If Jesus was referring to those taken in the flood of Noah, why would he say things like "one man would be in the field and the other left" or "one woman grinding in the mill would be taken and the other left" or "two would be in a bed but only one taken"? Is that what typically happens during a GLOBAL flood? People please! Sometimes you need to do a quick test to make sure that the arguments you use even make sense.

I have this scripture Romans 8:28 hanging on the wall in my home, my new home rebuilt after a housefire took my home, my dog everything tangibly familiar to me and almost killed me two years ago in 2021. I’m a 63-year-old woman alone without family in the world and when the ambulance was taking me away to the burn hospital, Romans 8:28 was the scripture I recited, praying that it will be interesting to see what God would do with this tragedy. He has indeed rebuilt my life, my home, given me strength to go to continue working and to be of service in the medical field, and I am so grateful! ❤I always rely on God because that is the only sure thing with the example he set through His Son Christ Jesus, whose blood washes me free of sin and redeemed me and gives me a future and a hope according to Jeremiah 29:11 Amen 🙏

IMO its okay not to understand or know everything and along these lines its not okay to misconstrue some things that might be un-understandable at this moment. As much a little children can be expected to grasp everything i believe later in older stages of life we will understand more, if we thirsty for such and continue seeking and reading and learning while doing other important Godly work.

The problem is thinking every verse directly is applicable to you. This is a major hermanutical blind sight in many. They are David, they are Abraham, they are Noah, they are Israel, they are Peter, they are Paul. Every verse no matter who is speaking, when it is, whoever it's addressed, doesn't matter it's all directly to them. It leaks out when you hear " the Bible says to us, Jesus said to us, Peter said to us, the Bible teaches US. every verse is treated like it's directed to US. it's this rabid approach to scripture that causes verses like Acts 2.38 to be read prescriptive instead of descriptive. All context goes out the window. Non of Acts 2. 38 Is to be followed today. It was for that crowd ( Israel / Jews). It's a transition. It's not meant to be taken as a pattern of salvation. It's not reapeated. Paul doesn't include it in his explanation of how a person is saved. What happens is people read scripture backwards. They read back what they find later and re interpret the verse with this perspective instead of letting the verse stand in context. Acts 2. 38 Is literally Peter telling them they need to be water baptised in order to receive the Holy Spirit. It doesn't say they were baptised because they already believed. This is a spin. At that time that is what was required for them to do. It's not a pattern to follow any more than when later, also in Acts the samaritans needed the laying on of hands to recieve the Holy Spirit. This is another example of God transitioning to a people group. It's not a pattern. Noah building an Ark is descriptive. Abraham offering his son is descriptive. We need not twist verses to suit our doctrines.

Beware of people who start reinterpreting the Bible

This Spoke Directly to me. Long Story Short... My liver failed in 2019 and I went septic and got an emergency transplant. Came home and have been really struggling since coming back home to be around my 3 older brothers who are all bad alcoholics. They werent around me when i was going through hell and they dont understand how much i hurt me to see them drinking. Like, my loss wouldnt have made a difference in their lives....and that hurts. Growing up I saw the hell they put themselves through and I wanted no part of it. Eventually I left home and went out on my own I didnt touch alcohol, until i turned 21, i went pretty hard for a while and then i got diagnosed with Ulceratice Colitis(2010). BUT that didnt stop me entirely from drinking. Then my esophogeal variscies burst in my throat and i almost bleed out in my bathroom.(2018) I havent had a drink since. I ended up losing my colon in the end (2020) God Granted me a second chance. And i feel that he had to take my liver from me to bring me back to Him. AND IT WORKED. Ive come a long way in 5 years. Mentally, Physically and Spiritually.....but only because God has allowed it.

The passage in Romans says that all things work for good for those who make their lives a sacrifice. " If you had known what these words mean, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent."

Do you still not see Daniel, Ezekiel 38, Revelation jumping off the Bibles pages.....Ethnos against Ethnos, wars and rumors, deception everywhere, false teacher every channel every Sunday teaching prosperity, entertainment and sowing seeds rather than Jesus Christ.....we are about to enter the 70th week of Daniel, a 7 year tribulation like this world has never nor will ever see. Jesus is at the door and though living for Jesus is paramount so is the faith, full armor of God and the patience God said would be needed....this time will not be a walk in the park for Christians but persecution unto death for the Name of our Lord Jesus the true Messiah, King of all Kings and Lord of Lords.

Yes a person that says he is a christian even baptised one can never have elevation and it is because 1 he or she does not stay in the word and does no serious bible study. And second it is a person who does not want to give sin up. But the no 1 is the most sure thing of a person not wanting his word in his or her life. The word is life, the word is truth, the word is everything for a real christian. We canot forget that it is a calling from the Father.

Yes you did answer the question of binding and loosing, it all depends on where we are with our walk with God. And look at the old testament, Abraham with God, And Moses with God. Moses could have said to God after God said "I will destroy these people and make you a great nation. Moses talked to God and brought in a discussion about what the Egyptians would say about the God of Israel. Then Abraham when how he talked to God about if God would find 50 or 40 or 30 or 20 or 10 righteouss will you destroy all. Abraham said how dare you the God of the whole world destroy the righteouss with the good. Abraham could have said and Moses also "ok make me a great people. Would have that be loving ones neighbour? No. We can change God's anger if we do not bind with God the same mind set as him. We were given that authority, as soon as one walks with God and does his ways, we can save a whole lot of people because we become the sons of God. All who do good and walk in righteoussness are called the sons of God. Can a young boy talk to his daddy and say dad I know you said no, but if I do this thing in another way, one that will make you not worried but glade, would you let me do it. The dad can surely change his mind. The Father of us all is a Father, like the fathers we all have, we talk to our fathers, we sometimes can be mad at our fathers, and happy with them, and other times are times to talk of concerns. God is a loving Father, but he has an anger that surpasses all of ours put together, but he is always ready to forgive and listen. And we can change his wrath to love.
